RESOURCES FOR PTA OFFICERS & LEADERS
NCPTA Membership Benefits
Local PTAs in good standing are recognized under the NCPTA group 501(c)(3) tax exempt status by the IRS. This means that you do not have to apply to the IRS for tax exempt status or file an initial 1023 application which can cost hundreds of dollars.
Your 501 (c)(3) nonprofit status, which you receive as a member of NCPTA, makes your local PTA eligible to apply for and receive funding through grants. National PTA offers a class online about grant writing.
Your PTA receives ongoing member support and resources from the North Carolina PTA
Nonprofit compliance training opportunities are available for members
Your school is eligible to compete in Reflections, the statewide PTA art competition
You are eligible to attend the statewide annual Parent Education Conference
