NC PTA Teacher Scholarship
NC PTA is please to continue its Teacher Scholarship Program. A grant in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to a teacher seeking a Masters degree in Education.
To be eligible for the North Carolina PTA Teacher Scholarship, a teacher must:
- Be currently teaching in North Carolina public schools with a PTA in good standing (Dues paid, Bylaws up-to-date, and Financial Review submitted for previous school year);
- Be an instructional classroom teacher (not a media specialist, guidance counselor, etc.);
- Have a minimum of three years’ teaching experience;
- Work towards a Masters Degree in a subject or grade level area, not administration;
- Continue/return to teaching in a public school classroom; and
- Be a current member of the local PTA.
The teacher may be working on the degree on either a full-time or part-time basis. The scholarship can be used to cover tuition costs and other student fees, purchase of books, or other direct costs related to the degree program. The money will be placed into an account at the college/university from which these expenses can be paid.
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must apply online by March 15. In your online application you will need to provide the following:
- Your name, address, and email address
- Name of your School PTA and Principal's name
- Ethnic Group
- College or University study will take place
- Questions about your training and experience
- Essay in narrative form
